News Writing Internship

Are you a news junky who loves following the latest developments in college news? TheFifthYear.com, the premier college site on the Web, is offering a news writing internship for the spring/summer semester. This internship is currently unpaid and work from home, but credit is available as is a hiring possibility.
Duties for this internship include writing on current events and political news, writing opinion pieces and participating in the message boards, all under supervision. This internship requires 10 hours weekly and the schedule is flexible.
Candidates should have excellent research and communication skill, strong writing skills (especially in opinion writing) and an interest in news and politics reporting. As this is a virtual office, interns must be comfortable working independently. English or journalism majors are preferred but not required.

The Fifth Year is looking for highly motivated sports minded journalism interns to report on college sports. The position will provide a great opportunity for aspiring sports reporters to break into the business. The position includes reporting and writing articles for the The Fifth Year. The person we hire would edit player updates and edit and post columns and blog entries for Sporting News portion of our website as well as some interaction with users through blogs and email. Successful candidates will be required to report scores and articles in a timely manner, making this a fast paced exciting opportunity. The intern position will provide a great opportunity for future paid positions with. English or journalism majors are preferred but not required.
